Dr. Katharine de Villiers is the Grants Assistant for the Global Parenting Initiative. Before joining the GPI, she worked as an administrator for a Barnardo’s children home and then with Oxfordshire County Council in the Director’s Office for Children Social Care, before joining Oxford University in the HR team. Prior to this, Katharine has worked in education as a science teacher and preschool supervisor.
While living in Malaysia (2001-2008) she worked for an international charity, Viva, editing a journal and organising an international conference for children’s workers. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies and a PhD in the politics of scientific advice from the University of Essex.
